version 0.2.2 "the devastating urge toward simplicity"


This version does NOT have a lot of new content, but instead fundamentally reworks a lot of game mechanics and most of the abilities. It lays a stronger foundation for more stuff to come. The balance has also been significantly upturned and will need some time to settle.

Stat-scaling is removed from the damage of most abilities, which now clearly deal a flat amount of damage

Hit, Dodge and Accuracy no longer display as a range, but as a single number, which represents the "maximum score" - the range when comparing these values is universally 1-maximum score

Weapons no longer have their scaling attached to different attributes, their Hit and Accuracy are fixed base values

Made melee weapons comparatively much stronger than ranged weapons

Defense is removed, Block now has a fixed chance based on how many weapons you have equipped / if you have hand armor

Block now works like armor, and can reduce the damage you take even if it doesn't "beat" the damage

Armor now has a 10% chance to fail completely

DEX, per point:

+1% physical damage dealt

+1% chance to block (total chance to Block is capped at 90%, which I forgot to include in tooltips)

+5% Accuracy (+10% if two-handing)

+10 Dodge

+1 Speed

STR, per point:

+1% physical damage dealt

+5% Hit (+10% if two-handing)

+5% Block

-1% damage taken

Negates Encumbrance

WIL, per point:

+2% non-physical damage dealt

+5% healing

Determines summoned ally limit

Glory needed to level up tripled, Glory is now also gained from entering levels, and scales per "day" (in future updates I'd like to emphasize the idea that you can walk past enemies and leave levels, and not necessarily be punished for it. Perhaps tower guardians will "lock" the door)

*Bonus: new culture, Qamar, they like to teleport and deal astral damage, purple with a tail
